
Larry Bossidy
Larry Bossidy, born March 5, 1935, is a distinguished American businessman and author, best known for his leadership roles in major corporations and his insights on business execution. He graduated from Colgate University in 1957 with a degree in economics and began his career at General Electric (GE), where he spent 34 years rising through various executive positions, including Chief Operating Officer of GE Credit Corporation.
In 1991, Bossidy became Chairman and CEO of AlliedSignal, where he transformed the company into one of the most admired in the industry. Following AlliedSignal’s merger with Honeywell in 1999, he served as Chairman and CEO of Honeywell International until his retirement in 2002. Under his leadership, both companies achieved significant growth and operational improvements.
Bossidy is also a bestselling author, co-writing Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done (2002) and Confronting Reality: Master the New Model for Success (2004), which emphasize the importance of effective execution in business. He has been recognized as CEO of the Year by Financial World magazine and CEO Magazine.
In addition to his corporate roles, Bossidy has served on the boards of several major companies, including Merck & Company and JPMorgan. He remains active as a mentor and advisor to emerging business leaders
